Each September the Exchange Club of Muncie sponsors "Flags of Honor," to remember veterans, first responders and patriots at Minnetrista Museum and Gardens. The outdoor display will remain through September 11.
Helping to set up the 1,000-flag display were members of Muncie Central's JROTC.
"We don't know how we would do this without them," said Exchange Club member Becky Adams, who helps staff the tent that offers information about the display and the work of the Muncie Exchange Club. "The students made it possible for us to get the flags set up much quicker."
People interested in supporting this project can honor up to three people per ribbon purchased. Each ribbon costs $30 and may be purchased at the tent located across from the main entrance of Minnetrista. Proceeds from the event will support local veterans and Muncie charities.
