Updated: Aug 8, 2022

Two Muncie Central graduates will be among the 11 people inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame for 2022.

They are Chris Powers, '99, and Ryan Kerrigan, 2007.

Powers ran cross country where he competed at the local, regional and state levels at Muncie Central. He continued his education at Indiana University where he was a two-time Division I All-American in track & field and cross country. He is now a director for PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting and lives in San Francisco.

Kerrigan played football at Muncie Central and was recruited to play football at Purdue University. After his 2010 college season, he was a first-team All-Big Ten selection, was honored as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, as well as winning the Bill Willis Trophy given to the top collegiate defensive lineman, and was recognized as a unanimous All-American. He was drafted by the Washington, D.C., NFL football team (now the Washington Commanders) in 2011 where he played through the 2020 season. While with Washington, he set team records and played in three Pro Bowls. He signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in May of 2021.

Chris Powers, '99, is the second runner from the left knelling in the front row.
