Memorabilia Room gets spring cleaning

Updated: Jun 15, 2022

Alumni Association board members who serve on the Memorabilia Room Committee have been meeting at least once a week on average for the last several weeks to achieve several goals.

One of the biggest tasks the committee has tackled has been to take an inventory of Memorabilia Room items and confirm their location. The committee hopes to create a map of the room that will allow visitors to find more easily the items they are interested in.

Some athletic jackets have been dry cleaned by Vogue Cleaners, whose owner is William Shroyer, a 1950 graduate of Muncie Central.

All the showcases and bookshelves have been cleaned.

Trophies are being organized by sport and year.

Duplicates of yearbooks are being evaluated and are being considered for distribution to the Ball State University archives, Muncie Public Library archives, Delaware County Historical Society archives or Minnetrista's archives.

Finally, a new printer and a computer to maintain the Memorabilia Room's inventory and the Alumni Association's financial records have been purchased.

Nora Niccum, '63, president of the Alumni Association, and board member Steve Cartwright, '66, verify that donated items in one of the room's showcases are available for visitors to enjoy.
