4 teachers receive grants

The Muncie Central High School Alumni Association has awarded its teacher grants, valued at more than $1,900, to four Central teachers for 2026.
Teachers, amount of grant and items to be purchased are as follows:
–Lucy Benefiel, special education teacher, $500, supplies to create a sensory room
–Sarah Hoffman, math/physics teacher, $436.04, five flying pigs and digital Newton meters for centripetal motion experiments
–Kayla Howard, fine arts teacher, $500, power tools for the Drama Club to construct production sets
–Daniel Sager, band director, $500, private instructors for student musicians
Muncie Central teachers may apply for grants by securing an application from the associate principal, who also sends the application to faculty via email. The deadline is Dec. 1 of each year. The grants are awarded to recipients by the beginning of the start of the new semester of the following year. The grant application form also may be secured from the alumni association's website, https://www.munciecentralalumniassociation.com/, under "Programs we support."
The Muncie Central High School Alumni Association allocates up to $2,000 in grants annually.
Membership forms for Muncie Central alumni and non-Central graduates interested in supporting Muncie Central students and teachers are available on the alumni association’s website, https://www.munciecentralalumniassociation.com/, under “How to join.” Membership forms and donations may be mailed to Muncie Central Alumni Association, c/o Joanie Taylor, 2808 W. Riggin Road, Muncie, IN 47304. Checks should be made payable to MCHS Alumni Association.
